An Enigma cypher machine in a pocket watch, with Arduino and an OLED display!
Exciting to read in Hackaday about YouTuber asciimation building an Arduino-based Enigma code machine (vintage World War II). The Germans used large typewriter style machines to encode and decode messages for broadcast. The system was broken by the Allies through a great amount of work and money.
The amazing thing is it fitting inside a pocket watch form factor. How much would the Allies have wanted for one of these 75 years ago?
You can follow the details on this exquisite piece on asciimation’s YouTube, the Asciimation blog, and via Hackaday. Superb work!
